PS Kilemi presided over launch and distribution of BT Cotton Seed at Muluanda, Busia County
Principal Secretary of State Cooperatives Patrick Kilemi presided over the launch and distribution of BT Cotton Seed at Muluanda, Busia County.
Present during the event was PS for the State Department of Industry, Dr. Juma Mukhwana, and AFA DG Beatrice Nyamwamu, among other dignitaries.
The provision of BT cotton seeds to farmers is part of the government’s efforts to promote cotton production in Nyanza and Western regions.
“ I am happy that Muluanda Ginnery has the capacity to gin 3,000 MT. (16,000 bales) of lint per year. This calls for more effort for farmers in Western and Nyanza regions to double their effort to fully utilize this facility” the PS noted.
