Today, the Principal Secretary State Department for Co-operatives, Mr. Patrick Kilemi chaired a meeting on Coffee Cherry Advance Revolving Fund Operation (CCARF) 2023.
In attendance was Mr Timothy Mirugi, Managing Director of New Kenya Planters Cooperative Union (NKPCU), and Safaricom and Cooperative Bank officials, respectively.
They discussed the impact of the coffee cherry advance revolving fund on small-holder coffee farmers.
Access to CCARF has enhanced farms’ productivity and spurred production through farm inputs as the fund is used to purchase and facilitate continuous coffee picking.
This promotes food security and increased income as envisaged in the government’s Vision 2030 and sustainable development goals.
