Today, the Principal Secretary State Department for Co-operatives, Mr. Patrick Kilemi chaired a meeting on Coffee Cherry Advance Revolving Fund Operation (CCARF) 2023.
In attendance was Mr Timothy Mirugi, Managing Director New Kenya Planters Cooperative Union (NKPCU) and officials from Safaricom and Cooperative Bank, respectively.
They discussed the impact of coffee cherry advance revolving fund to small-holder coffee farmers.
Access to CCARF has enhanced farms productivity and spurred production through farm inputs as the fund is used to purchase and facilitate continuous coffee picking.
This promotes food security and increased income as envisaged in the government’s vision 2030 and sustainable development goals.
