In cognizance of the crucial role of cooperatives in financial inclusion, deepening and access, The Ministry is undertaking reforms in the cooperative sector through review of the policy and legal frameworks and restructuring key institutions in various value chains. In deed the recent Sessional Paper No 4 of 2020, The National Cooperative Policy, recognizes co-operatives as private organizations that provide public good, and as appropriate vehicles for realization of Kenya Vision 2030, and by extension the Kenya Kwanza Plan.
I therefore take this early opportunity to congratulate KUSCCO Ltd for aligning the SACCO sub sector to the Bottom-Up initiative.
