Today, State Department for Co-operatives Principal Secretary Mr. Patrick Kilemi paid a courtesy visit to the Deputy Speaker of the Senate and Meru County Senator Hon. Kathuri Murungi. The Deputy Speaker deplored the very low prices macadamia and banana farmers are fetching for their produce and requested the PS to aggregate these farmers into Co-operatives to enhance their market power and cut off brokers from the supply chain.
