State Department for Co-operatives Principal Secretary Mr. Patrick Kilemi attended the Annual General Meeting (AGM) for Centenary Sacco at Gitoro Pastoral Grounds, Meru County.
Diocese of Meru Sacco was formed on 18th March 2003. In the year 2009, the Diocese of Meru Sacco was rebranded to Centenary Sacco Society and was licensed as a Deposit-taking Sacco (DTS) by the Sacco Societies Regulatory Authority (SASRA).
From an Office at the Bishop’s house in 2003, currently, Centenary Sacco has branches at Intercity Building- Meru Head office, Chuka, Kinoro, Mutuati, Marimanti and the proposed Timau Office.
The PS assured co-operatives of the government’s commitment to providing an enabling environment for the sector. The role played by cooperatives in the country can not be gainsaid as it’s the key player in the realization of the Country’s Vision 2030 and Kenya Kwanza manifesto Plan – Bottom-Up Economic Transformation Agenda.
Also present was the State Department for Irrigation Principal Secretary Mr. Gitonga Mugambi.
